St. Charles “Chain-Reaction” Crash
There was a three-car collision Thursday morning (November 30, 2017) in St. Charles. The accident was a “chain-reaction” crash which began after a SUV reportedly ran a red light. As seen in many Chicago area instances in which a vehicle “blows through” a stop, a significant accident followed.
According to St. Charles Police, first responders went to the accident scene, which was at the intersection of Peck Road and West Main Street in St. Charles, at approximately 8:00 a.m.
An excerpt regarding the crash, from the Kane County Chronicle article titled “St. Charles man hospitalized following 3-car St. Charles crash“:
Mehgan Taylor, 29, of Sycamore was driving a 2011 Buick Enclave east on West Main Street when she disobeyed a red light and struck a southbound 2006 Chevrolet Impala on Peck Road. A 33-year-old St. Charles man was driving the Chevy. His vehicle spun and struck a 2003 Honda Pilot, which a 26-year-old St. Charles woman was driving north on Peck Road.
The 33-year-old St. Charles driver was taken to Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital in Geneva with accident injuries that were considered to be non-life-threatening in nature.
Another excerpt from the article:
“Two witnesses were able to say that the Buick went through a red light,” Kintz said.
Taylor was cited for disobeying a traffic control device.
