Fatal Huntley Vehicle Collision
A Huntley vehicle collision resulted in loss of a life. This Huntley vehicle collision occurred Monday (February 8, 2021) along Route 47. First responders, including the Huntley Police Department and Huntley Fire Protection District, went to the accident scene beginning around 5:25 a.m. The accident occurred on Route 47 near Regency Square Parkway.

Officers arrived and found a crash involving a 1999 Acura TL and a 2016 GMC Sierra north of the intersections in the southbound lanes.
Huntley Deputy Police Chief Michael Klunk said a preliminary investigation revealed that the Acura was traveling northbound on Route 47.
The GMC was traveling southbound when the Acura collided with it, Klunk said.
The driver of the Acura suffered serious injuries and was declared dead at the accident scene. He was identified as Julian M. Torres, 27, of Carpentersville.
The driver of the pickup truck was also injured and taken to Northwestern Medicine Huntley Hospital.
Accident scene photos show both vehicles being extensively damaged.
The crash remains under investigation by the Huntley Police Department, Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team, and the Kane County Coroner’s Office.
