Fatal SUV Accident In Kane County
There was a fatal SUV accident Monday morning (December 28, 2015) in Elgin.
The accident involved a 2015 Toyota SUV that was driving along Garden Crescent Drive when it left the roadway. The SUV then went into Tyler Creek. The accident happened in the area of Garden Crescent Drive and Tivoli Place.
Elgin Police responded to the accicent at approximately 7:30 a.m. The SUV was partially submerged, and the driver was found deceased. The driver was identified as Erika Galvan, 31, of Elgin.
At the time of the accident, the area was experiencing ice storms, although it is currently unknown if this was a factor in the accident.

The cause of death is under investigation by the coroner’s office. An autopsy was performed Monday and is pending further investigation. Toxicology samples were sent to a forensic laboratory for analysis, the coroner’s office said.
