Fatal Kane County Head-On Collision
There was a fatal accident in St. Charles Friday (November 28, 2014) afternoon, in which a driver is facing various charges including DUI.
According to the St. Charles Police Department, a preliminary investigation indicates that the accident happened at approximately 2:05 p.m., near the intersection of North 2nd Street and Timbers Trail. At that time, a car traveling southbound on Second Street crossed over the center line and hit a northbound car head-on.
The driver heading northbound, identified as Susan Gorecki, 65, of St. Charles, was taken to Delnor Hospital in Geneva, where she later died from accident injuries.
The driver of the southbound car, identified as Joshua E. Spudich, 23, St. Charles, was also taken to Delnor Hospital for treatment of minor accident injuries.

Spudich has been charged with four counts of aggravated driving under the influence, one count of possession of a controlled substance, one count of driving under the influence of drugs, one count of driving while license revoked and one count of improper lane usage, police said.
