There was a fatal Elgin pedestrian accident Thursday (January 3, 2019) night that occurred on Randall Road.

Fire and police personnel were called to the accident scene, which was in the 200 block of South Randall Road, at 10:19 p.m.
This fatal Elgin pedestrian accident involved a southbound 2004 Ford pickup truck hitting a 13-year-old girl. The girl was taken to Presence St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin for treatment of her accident injuries. She later died.

The Kane County coroner’s office identified the girl as Alexis Horton of Elgin. An autopsy performed Friday determined she died of multiple injuries. Toxicology samples were collected and sent to a forensic laboratory for analysis.
The driver has not been ticketed nor charged with criminal wrongdoing while authorities investigate, police said in a social media post.
