Fatal Car Collision In Aurora, Illinois

Fatal Kane County Car Accident

There was a fatal car collision in Aurora on Friday evening, April 24, 2015.

According to Aurora Police, the collision happened at approximately 6:00 p.m. on Eola Road, just to the north of Prospect Drive.

At that time, a man driving a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder southbound on Eola Road lost control of the vehicle, crossed the median and hit a 2009 Honda Fit that was traveling northbound.

The driver of the Honda Fit, identified as Eddie D. Bermea, 34, of DeKalb, was trapped in the car and was declared dead at the accident scene.  His wife to taken to a hospital for treatment of accident injuries.

The driver of the Nissan Pathfinder was identified as Shayan U. Farooqi, 21, of Aurora.  He was also taken to a hospital for medical treatment.

Shayan U. Farooqi, 21, of Aurora told police he lost control of his vehicle, which was heading south on Eola, after experiencing what he believed were mechanical issues, police said in a news release.
