Traffic Accident In Batavia Leads To Death of Driver

Fatal Kane County Traffic Accident

There was a fatal traffic accident Sunday (July 9, 2017) in Batavia.

According to Batavia Police, the collision happened at approximately 8:41 a.m., at Randall Road and McKee Street.   At that time, a Jeep Wrangler that was heading northbound on Randall Road struck a Buick LaCrosse in the intersection.

The Buick had been westbound on McKee Street and was turning south onto Randall Road at the time of the crash.

An excerpt regarding the crash, as seen in the July 10, 2017 Beacon-News article titled “Police investigating crash that killed Batavia man“:

Police said eastbound and westbound traffic had green arrows for turning left onto Randall Road, and the Jeep failed to stop for a red light, according to their initial investigation.

The driver of the Buick had to be extricated from the SUV.  He was taken to Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital in Geneva, where he was pronounced dead.  He was identified as Terry W. Starck, 57, of Batavia.

The driver of the Jeep was also taken to Delnor Hospital for treatment of accident injuries, which were considered to be “minor injuries.”

This fatal traffic accident remains under investigation.
