According to a Sheriff’s Office news release, deputies responded at around 5:25 a.m. Saturday to a report of a traffic crash with injuries on IL Route 38 near the intersection of Watson Road in unincorporated Virgil Township.

The initial investigation indicates that a Honda was traveling east on Route 38 and for an unknown reason crossed the center line and was struck head on by a Freightliner semi-trailer truck that was traveling west.

The driver of the Honda was flown to St. Anthony’s Hospital in Rockford. The injuries were considered to be potentially life-threatening in nature.

The driver of the semi truck was not injured during the crash.

The accident investigation is being conducted by the Kane County Sheriff’s Office and members of the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team.

There was a fatal Kane County truck accident Monday morning (April 6, 2015) on Route 20 in Pingree Grove.

The accident happened on Route 20 at approximately 5:15 a.m., as a semi truck was traveling westbound near Reinking Road.  At that time, for a currently unknown reason, the truck left the roadway and rolled onto its side.

A 12-year-old girl, the daughter of the truck driver, was ejected from the truck during the accident.  She was identified as Dahabrielle A. Turner.  She died at the accident scene.

The driver of the truck, Dior L. Turner of South Bend, Indiana, was taken to Presence St. Joseph Hospital for treatment of his accident injuries.

There was a multi-car accident on I-90 near Huntley on Friday morning (January 9, 2015) which started when two semis “jackknifed.”  The Illinois State Police (ISP) says that at least ten vehicles were involved in the subsequent “chain reaction” accident.

The accident happened during “slick” road conditions caused by cold temperatures – in the single digits – and blowing snow.

According to the ISP, the accident happened at approximately 7:50 a.m. in the eastbound lanes near Illinois Route 47.

After the trucks jackknifed, “10 to 12 other accidents and incidents’’ happened, with motorists hitting walls, driving into ditches and spinning out, said Carlos.

There was a truck rollover accident in which two people were injured on Monday, July 7, 2014.  This accident happened in unincorporated Kane County, Illinois, at approximately 2:30 p.m.

An excerpt from the Northwest Herald article of July 8, 2014, titled “Two injured Monday in Kane County crash” :

Gengler added the accident resulted in the closure of Route 31 from North County Line Road to Schoolhouse Road for about an hour and a half Monday.

This is the second overturned truck at the intersection of Route 31 and Miller Road in three weeks. A semi-truck overturned June 26, blocking traffic for about two hours. The driver of the truck was able to exit the vehicle, police said at the time.
