Two-Vehicle Crash In Carpentersville
There was a two-vehicle crash Sunday (January 15, 2017) in Carpentersville. The crash led to the death of a 85-year-old woman.
According to Carpentersville Police, police officers went to the accident scene at approximately 10:30 a.m. The accident scene was near the intersection of Route 25 (Kennedy Drive) and Fir Street.
The accident involved one vehicle pulling out onto Route 25. This vehicle was then struck by a southbound vehicle.
The driver of the car that was attempting to pull out onto Route 25 was identified as Katherine L. Vucsko, 85, of Carpentersville. She was taken to Advocate Sherman Hospital in Elgin, where she was pronounced dead.
The other driver was identified as a 23-year-old man from Hanover Park. He suffered minor injuries during the crash and was also taken to a hospital for treatment of these accident injuries.

The southbound lanes of Route 25 remained closed on Sunday until approximately 1:30 p.m. while the Carpentersville Police Department and Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team remained on site to investigate the accident and collect evidence, police said.
The crash investigation continues. No citations have been issued at this time.
