Fatal Pedestrian Accident In Elgin

There was a fatal pedestrian accident Wednesday evening (January 14, 2015) in Elgin.

The accident happened as two boys attempted to cross Route 20, just west of McLean Boulevard at approximately 6:13 p.m.  According to preliminary reports, one of the boys was struck by a car.  He may have been running across the street at the time of the accident.

The boy, 12 years old, was later pronounced dead, after being taken to Presence St. Joseph Hospital.

The Elgin Police Department is continuing to investigate this pedestrian accident.  Those with information are asked to call 847-289-2661.
