There was a car accident in Aurora, Illinois early this morning (April 21, 2014) in which two people were seriously injured.  This car accident involved a car hitting a tree.

According to Aurora Police, the crash happened at approximately 5:29 a.m. near Fourth Street and Maple Avenue.

An excerpt from the Aurora Beacon-News article of April 21, 2014, titled “Two seriously injured in Aurora crash” :

Preliminary reports suggest that a Chevy Impala, driven by a 21-year-old Aurora woman, was southbound on Fourth Street at a high rate of speed when the driver lost control.

Police said it appears the woman drove off onto the west side of the street, and struck a traffic sign and a tree.

Both the female driver and a 29-year-old male passenger, also from Aurora, are being treated for serious injuries.

As seen in a photo of the accident scene, the car appears badly damaged.
