There was a fatal Aurora hit & run accident Monday (March 25, 2019) night. This Aurora crash involved a vehicle hitting an 8-year-old boy and his grandfather as they attempted to walk across the Route 31.

According to the Aurora Police Department, police and fire personnel were dispatched at 7:42 p.m. Monday to the area of Lake Street (IL Route 31) in response to a report of a fatal vehicle-versus-pedestrian crash involving a young child.
Preliminary investigation indicates that an 8-year-old boy, his sister, and his grandfather were crossing the street, at which time the boy and his grandfather were struck by a vehicle traveling south on Lake Street.
The vehicle left the accident scene following hitting the pedestrians.
The boy and his grandfather were taken to a hospital for treatment of their accident injuries. The boy was later pronounced dead.
