According to an APD news release, officers responded to reports of a person struck by a vehicle in the 500 block of South River Street and found a man lying in the roadway.

Paramedics attempted to save the man’s life, but he was pronounced dead at the accident scene.

The man was later identified as Brent Jean, 57, of Aurora.

The vehicle left the accident scene after hitting him.

The accident investigation is being conducted by the Aurora Police’s Traffic Unit. This accident investigation involved an accident reconstruction.

Aurora Police ask those with information concerning this accident to either call the Aurora Police Department’s Traffic Unit at 630-256-5330, or to call Crime Stoppers at 630-892-1000 to anonymously report information.
