There was a vehicle rollover accident Thursday (August 18, 2016) in Aurora.  Three people were injured as a result of the accident.

According to Aurora Police, the two-car accident happened at the intersection of Orchard and Jericho Roads.

As seen in the wspynews.com article of August 22, 2016 titled “Three Injured Following Rollover Accident at Orchard and Jericho Roads in Aurora,” the cause of the accident was that one car turned left into the path of the other vehicle.  A driver was cited for failure to yield before making a left-hand turn.

Fatal Motorcycle-Pickup Truck Collision In Geneva, Illinois

Fatal Kane County Motorcycle Accident

There was a fatal motorcycle accident Wednesday (August 10, 2016) in Geneva.

According to the Geneva Police Department and Batavia Fire Department, first responders went to the accident scene (on Fabyan Parkway west of Kingsland Drive) at 4:36 p.m.

The accident involved a collision between a 2006 Harley-Davidson motorcycle, that was westbound on Fabyan Parkway, and a pickup truck that was pulling onto Fabyan Parkway from Settlers Hill Golf Course.

According to Geneva Police, witnesses say the motorcyclist failed to stop at the intersection and then struck the pickup truck.

During the collision, the motorcyclist was ejected from the motorcycle.  He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.

The motorcyclist, identified as a Dale P. Slaughter, 61, of Aurora, was flown to Delnor Hospital in Geneva for treatment of his accident injuries.  He was later pronounced dead.

The sole occupant of the pickup truck, a 62-year-old man from South Elgin, was not injured in the collision.

This fatal motorcycle accident is being investigated by the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team and the Geneva Police Department.

Fatal Collision Between Motorcycle And Car In Batavia

Fatal Kane County Motorcycle Collision

There was a fatal car-motorcycle collision Thursday night (August 4, 2016) in Batavia.

The accident involved a collision between a motorcycle and another vehicle at the intersection of Randall Road and Main Street, as shown below:

The collision happened at approximately 8:20 p.m.

An excerpt from the Kane County Chronicle article of August 5, 2016, titled “Batavia police:  Oswego motorcyclist dies in Randall Road crash,” referring to Batavia Police Detective Kevin Bretz:

He said a 2009 Pontiac Vibe, driven by a 16-year-old female from North Aurora, was southbound on Randall Road preparing to turn onto eastbound Main Street, while a 1994 Kawasaki Ninja, driven by the Oswego man, was northbound on the inside lane of Randall Road approaching Main Street. Both had a green light, Bretz said, noting that preliminary information indicates the Pontiac began its left turn onto Main Street and the vehicles collided.

The motorcyclist, later identified as Justin Retherford-Speer, 20, of Oswego, was declared dead after being taken to Delnor Community Hospital for treatment of his accident injuries.

Two occupants of the Pontiac Vibe were not injured.

This fatal Illinois motorcycle accident remains under investigation by the Kane County Accident Reconstruction Team and Batavia Police.

Motorcyclist Dies Following Sugar Grove Township Crash

Fatal Kane County Motorcycle Accident

There was a fatal motorcycle accident Sunday evening (July 31, 2016) in Sugar Grove Township.

According to the Kane County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the crash at approximately 6:40 p.m.  The accident scene was near the intersection of Jericho Road and McCannon Road.  According to preliminary crash investigation findings, the accident involved a motorcyclist (identified as Pawel Czop, 31, of Schaumburg) attempting to pass two cars that were traveling east on Jericho Road, but these vehicles were slowing as the lead car, a Dodge Charger, was starting to turn north onto McCannon Road.

As the motorcycle went into the opposite lane to pass the Charger, the motorcycle struck the rear driver’s side of the Charger.

Czop was ejected from the motorcycle during the collision.  He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

Czop was taken to Presence Mercy Medical Center in Aurora for treatment of his accident injuries, and pronounced dead there.

The driver of the Charger, as well as a passenger, were taken to Rush-Copley Medical Center in Aurora for treatment of minor accident injuries.

An excerpt from the Northwest Herald article of August 1, 2016, titled “Schaumburg motorcyclist dead following crash near Sugar Grove“:

Kane County Sheriff’s Office detectives and members of the Kane County Crash Reconstruction Team will continue to investigate the crash. No citations were immediately issued. Jericho Road was closed for about four hours after the crash, the release stated.
